The Al Rayyan Stadium in Qatar, also known as Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, was rebuilt for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It seats around 40,000 fans. The design reflects local culture with a patterned façade inspired by Qatari motifs. Pattern Architects in London led the work, mixing modern design with regional heritage.
The roof was built using the LCP Lycorseam® Aluminium standing seam system. Around 26,400 m² of panels were rolled and fixed directly on site. The aluminium is light but strong, able to handle desert heat, strong winds, and direct sun. It also reduces maintenance needs, keeping the stadium efficient for long-term use.
