Overview
The Anderson Secondary School project used LCP Lycordeck® steel decking as a structural roof liner. Lycordeck® is made from high-strength galvanized steel and designed with a closed rib profile that allows wider spans and fewer supports. This made it practical for the school’s roof system, which needed both strength and efficiency.
The decking can carry wet concrete and construction loads without temporary propping in most cases, thereby speeding up the installation process. It also leaves a smooth underside that serves as a ceiling finish, eliminating the need for additional work. With built-in fire resistance and support for ceiling services, Lycordeck® offered safety, durability, and long-term value.
